Anchovy Sauce, Easy Recipe + Benefits (Family Dinner)
Here is an easy recipe to make in a few minutes, and because it is with anchovies, being an oily fish, it's rich in omega-3 fatty acids, known for lowering levels of triglycerides, bad cholesterol and body inflammation. It is also an excellent source of protein, 9g of protein each anchovy fillet and only 55 calories!
Spaghetti with Anchovies - 20 mins
Ingredients: (6 Servings)
- 500g gluten free spaghetti
- 4 tiny tins anchovies
- Salt
- 4 - 6 garlic cloves, chopped thinly
- Olive oil (organic, for added flavour)
- Fresh parsley chopped thinly (a generous handful)
- Gluten free bread crumbs or croutons (at least 2 handfuls)
- Black pepper + Grated cheese (any, if allowed)
Method:
1) Cook the spaghetti, drain, set aside.
2) In the meantime the spaghetti cooks, put the anchovies, the garlic, 1 small cup oil and pinch of salt in a large pan over medium-low heat, cook stirring occasionally until anchovies dissolve and garlic is tender, 6–7 minutes (do not brown). After this, add the parsley and almost straight away remove from heat.
3) While the anchovies are cooking, toast the bread crumbs in a large flat pan with little olive oil. Stir often to avoid burning. Set aside.
4) Now add the spaghetti to the sauce and add the golden bread crumbs. Add grated cheese and serve. Bon Appetit!
