Brown & Polson produce a really fine and pure white corn starch as they remove the outer hull and germ for the best final product. 

This yellow and white cornflour is powdered finely for maximum results in every of your recipes. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, coeliacs, naturally gluten & dairy free.

    Cornflour can be used in so many different recipes.

    When grilling or frying meat and fish first coat with cornflour to seal the flavour.

    Use cornflour when stir frying to create thick glossy sauces. Mix cornflour with a little liquid and add the stir fry ingredients.

    To thicken soup, casseroles, and stews use about 15g cornflour to 300ml liquid. Blend cornflour with a little cold water, stir into the dish and cook for a further 3 minutes.



    Store in a cool, dry place and in an airtight container once opened.

    About the Brand

    Brown & Polson was established in 1840, when two muslin manufacturers joined forces in Paisley, Scotland. John Polson (the son of the original owner) discovered how to make maize into an edible starch, and patented the Cornflour in 1854.
