What is chasseur sauce? Chasseur sauce ( also called hunters sauce ) is a rich, dark sauce with wine and mushrooms, and often includes shallots and tomatoes with a finishing of herbs.

This chasseur mushroom sauce is traditionally served with venison, game birds, or chicken. But it's also a classic French sauce for beef, too.
