At Familydeli, we had to stock on this amazing essential! Born out of love of a culture that put food taste in first line. Behind the Kikkoman's curved bottle is the famous designer Kenji Ekuan. Kenji, became a monk after seeing his father dying from radiations exposure. But as a result of his japanese historical & cultural influence and his desire to encompass the japanese beauty, he became an industrial designer later on in life.
Kenji Ekuan became soon highly esteemed in his sector. His works span from the Komachi bullet train, the Yamaha VMAX motorbike to the elegant shape of Kikkoman soy sauce bottle with the red top, in 1961. He received many awards and prizes, including the prestigious Italian design prize the Golden Compass Award which he received in 2014. He died in 2015 at 85 years of age, but the legend goes on.
